To be eligible for a return or exchange, your item must be unworn, in the same condition that you received it and free of scratches. It must also be in the original packaging.

Your return will be processed within 3-5 business days from the time we receive it in our warehouse. Once your return is inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment within 4-8 business days.

The Steel Shop reserves the right to reject any returned items that show signs of use, wear, or alteration. If a product is not eligible for return or exchange, or fails to meet our quality control standards, a new shipping label will be required at your expense for the item to be sent back to you.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, unless you purchased Checkout+ at checkout (available for USA and Canada orders). Eligible orders with Checkout+ include a free prepaid return shipping label for qualifying returns and exchanges.

If you did not purchase Checkout+, you will need to arrange and pay for return shipping through your preferred shipping carrier. Please note that original shipping charges are non-refundable and will be deducted from your refund amount.

Orders shipped outside of Canada and the USA may be subject to duties and taxes. These charges are the customer's responsibility and cannot be refunded or waived, even if the order is returned to us.

For exchanges, we will ship your replacement item back to you free of charge.

Checkout+ is an optional protection service available for eligible USA and Canada orders. It includes package protection, free return shipping for eligible returns and exchanges, and access to our easy online return portal.

A $20 USD Non-Delivery Fee will be charged for refused shipments or for unsuccessful delivery to the address provided.

If you need to change or cancel your order, please contact us immediately. Once our warehouse has processed your order, we will be unable to make any changes.

For engraved products, once the order is placed, we are not able to cancel or update the order.

We can only ship your order to the shipping address attached to your order.

Most of our jewelry items, like leather and Franco link pieces, cannot be resized. However, certain styles like Figaro and Cuban links may be eligible for resizing. This is subject to the availability of the required materials in stock. Please note that a resizing fee and additional shipping charges will apply.

If you already have an account with us, log into your account at any time to review your order status.

Once your order is shipped, you'll receive a tracking number via email.

If you do not have an account, no worries, as soon as your order ships out you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking link.

If your order was unexpectedly cancelled, chances are that our fraud filter marked your order as fraudulent. If you are certain that that is not true, please order again with a Paypal account.

An unfulfilled status means that we successfully received your order. Once your order is shipped, you'll receive a tracking number and your order status will be changed to fulfilled.

If you did not receive an email confirmation for your order, please first check your junk/spam folder. If you still did not receive anything, please contact us at support@thesteelshop.com so that we can assist you.

Contact The Steel Shop within 7 days of delivery with a photo of the item and your order number. We will replace damaged or incorrect items at no cost to you. No need to return the original damaged piece in most cases. Reach out via email at support@thesteelshop.com and our team will respond within 1 to 2 business days.

We do not provide engraving services for pieces that have already been shipped.

316L is surgical-grade stainless steel, the same alloy used in medical implants and marine equipment. The "L" stands for low carbon, which improves corrosion resistance and weld strength. At The Steel Shop, we use 316L specifically because it outperforms common 304-grade steel: it's harder, holds its finish longer, and releases significantly less nickel, making it safer for sensitive skin.

No. Stainless steel jewelry does not rust or tarnish under normal wearing conditions. The Steel Shop uses 316L surgical-grade stainless steel, which contains chromium that forms a protective oxide layer on the surface. This layer self-repairs when exposed to air, making it highly resistant to corrosion from sweat, humidity, saltwater, and everyday exposure. It holds its finish for years without any special treatment.

The Steel Shop's pieces are built for daily wear through workouts, showers, and everything in between. Polished finishes last indefinitely. PVD-coated finishes in gold or black remain vibrant for several years with normal care.

The main differences are durability and maintenance. Sterling silver (92.5% silver, 7.5% copper) tarnishes over time and requires regular polishing to maintain its look. It also scratches more easily. 316L stainless steel does not tarnish, does not require polishing, and is significantly harder. The Steel Shop's stainless steel pieces will hold their finish and shape far longer than comparable sterling silver jewelry at a similar or lower price point.

316L stainless steel contains nickel, but it is tightly bound within the alloy so the amount that releases onto the skin is extremely low, well below the EU regulatory threshold of 0.5 micrograms per cm2 per week. Most people with mild to moderate nickel sensitivities wear The Steel Shop's pieces without any issues. If you have a severe diagnosed nickel allergy, consult a dermatologist before wearing any nickel-containing alloy.

No. The green discoloration from jewelry is caused by copper reacting with skin acids, which is common in brass, bronze, and low-quality gold-plated pieces. The Steel Shop uses 316L stainless steel, which contains no copper and does not react with skin chemistry. You will not experience any green staining from our jewelry, regardless of how long you wear it or how active you are.

Wrap a flexible tape measure snugly around your wrist just above the wrist bone. The Steel Shop lists the exact length of each bracelet on the product page, and many pieces include adjustable links or clasps so you can fine-tune the fit after ordering.

Wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of your finger, mark where it overlaps, and measure the length in millimeters. The Steel Shop's size guide is available on each ring product page.

Here is a general guide based on where each length falls on the body:

For men:

• 18 inches: Sits at the collarbone, a clean close-to-neck fit
• 20 inches: Falls just below the collarbone, the most popular length for everyday wear
• 22 to 24 inches: Chest level, works well for layering or wearing with a pendant
• 30 inches: Deeper chest hang, a bolder more statement-oriented look

Taller or broader men typically prefer 22 to 24 inches for the best proportions.

For women:

• 14 to 16 inches: Sits at or just below the collarbone, ideal for a delicate close-to-neck look
• 18 inches: Falls at the collarbone to just below, the most versatile everyday length
• 20 to 22 inches: Sits at or just above the bust, great for pendants and layering
• 24 to 28 inches: Falls below the bust, works well for longer pendant styles or a statement look
• 30 inches: A long opera-style length, ideal for layering or wrapping

Petite frames typically look best with 14 to 18 inch lengths, while taller frames can carry longer chains more naturally. When in doubt, 18 inches is the safest starting point for women.

We offer a one year warranty for all products on manufacturer defects.

Normal wear and tear is not covered by our warranty.

The warranty does not cover lost or stolen items.

Each order is eligible for one warranty replacement only.

Keeping your The Steel Shop jewelry looking sharp is straightforward:

Clean regularly: Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap, and a soft toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a lint-free cloth.

Avoid harsh chemicals: Keep jewelry away from bleach, acetone, and abrasive cleaners, as these can dull polished finishes and degrade PVD coatings.

Store separately: Keep pieces in individual pouches or compartments to prevent scratching against each other.

Wear smart: Remove jewelry during heavy manual work or weightlifting if preserving a mirror polish matters to you. Brushed finishes hide everyday wear much better.
A quick rinse after heavy sweat or saltwater exposure is all the maintenance 316L stainless steel really needs.

Yes. 316L stainless steel is fully waterproof and safe for showers, pools, and ocean water. Unlike silver or gold-plated jewelry, it won't discolor or corrode from water exposure. The Steel Shop's pieces are designed for active, everyday wear and you don't need to take them off before a workout or a swim. If you have a PVD-coated piece in gold or black, rinsing off chlorine or salt after exposure is a good habit to extend the coating's life.

Leather is water resistant, but not waterproof. Getting your leather bracelet soaking wet by wearing it in the shower or while swimming can strip the oils from the leather’s surface. If this happens, the leather can stretch out and get damaged. So while your leather bracelet is a great accessory in many locations, the beach & shower shouldn’t be one of them.

PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) is an industrial process that bonds a thin layer of gold- or black-toned alloy onto stainless steel at the molecular level, far harder and more durable than traditional electroplating. On The Steel Shop's PVD-finished pieces, you can expect the color to stay consistent for 2 to 5 years of regular wear, significantly outlasting standard gold-filled or gold-plated alternatives. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners to maximize the coating's lifespan.

No. A funnel kit is not included with our memorial jewelry. If you need one, you can purchase a compatible funnel kit separately here. It includes the tools needed to help fill your memorial jewelry safely and easily.

We suggest using a mini screwdriver to easily unscrew the bottom panel. To protect the material, place a cloth between the screwdriver and the surface. For added convenience, we offer a cremation funnel kit that includes a funnel and a specialized unscrewing tool, available for purchase.
